The Birth of a Runway. pt 10

So I am just doing my nightly watering of the new seed, I am on Day 3, when I look down and notice what looks like a rock just under the surface of the dirt. I begin to lightly kick at it with my foot to test just how solid it is. I wish I would have taken a picture when I first saw it, but after kicking up some dirt around it, this is what I discover.  As you can see, it is right in the middle of the runway.

This now demands a little more finesse.  I get a shovel and I'm determined to
remove this obstruction.
Have you ever actually seen a "can of worms" ?   Well, this is what it looks
like :

I continue to kick at it to determine it's rigidity, it's not showing any signs
of moving !!

I remove more dirt and the rock just keeps getting bigger !!  This does not look
good and I have already seeded this area.

It's at this point, that the wisdom of my 50 years kicks in and I ask myself,
"is it really that big of a problem, I could barely even tell it was there before ?

So, I developed "selective amnesia" and covered it back up !!

After a little clean up work and reseeding,  WHAT ROCK ???

This is Day 7 and it's starting to sprout !   I have to leave town for 4 days,
should be interesting to see what has happened when I return home .
