My Current Project
![]() This is the Bugatti 100 hanging in the EAA Museum in Oshkosh, Wi.
I am building a 1:4 scale R/C version of this plane as well. Including the contra-rotating props, opposed split flaps, and functional cooling vents in the leading edges of the stabilizers.
Check the "Model Gallery" to see construction photos.
![]() Caudron C460This is my 1:4 scale R/C replica of the French racer that dominated the 1936 National Air Races in Los Angeles. As one of the first racers to use a variable pitch prop, split flaps, and retractable landing gear, it easily outflew the competition in both the Thompson Trophy and Greve races. The pilot, Michel Detroyat (a.k.a. "The Falcon of France") , a French aerobatic pilot, became the first and only foreign pilot to ever win the Thompson Trophy. |
Today in Aviation History - March 9, 1938... A new parachute descent record of 35,450ft. is achieved by the French parachutist James Williams when he jumps from the cockpit of an ANF Les Mureaux 113 high-wing monoplane after taking off from the airfield at Chartres. Dropping to a height above the ground of 650 ft. in 2 minutes 50 seconds before opening his parachute, Williams easily achieves a world free-fall record. ___________________________ Free paper planes for the kids www.funpaperairplanes.com www.paperairplanes.co.uk/ www.bestpaperairplanes.com/ www.amazingpaperairplanes.com/ www.10paperairplanes.com/ ___________________________ Aviation Weather Links www.nws.noaa.gov/ www.noaa.gov/wx.html http://maps.avnwx.com/ www.usairnet.com/weather/ Questions or Comments ?
